The purpose of NSDC is to meet the needs of all partners involved in the improvement process. NSDC is committed to accelerating student achievement and improving schools and organizations through professional development.

NSDC Affiliates provide members the opportunity to expand their professional development networks by connecting with other affiliates nationwide. More than 35 states and provincial affiliates provide services and programs that connect staff developers within individual states, provinces or regions.

NSDC board members are excellent resources for information about staff development policies and practices in local school districts. The NSDC Board of Trustees has approved a number of resolutions.
